Re-booting a Stale Email List

Email marketing is alive and well with a greater conversion rate than social media engagement.
(That doesn’t mean you don’t continue all of your social marketing plans but you can’t ignore email.)
If you’ve been collecting email addresses for years but haven’t been sending out communications regularly, it’s a good idea to "reboot" your email list.
Better to have 200 interested folks than 20,000 people who will just delete your newsletter.
Emailing to a stale list can also be bad for search. I can’t imagine that google isn’t watching when 15,000 people disregard, delete or unsubscribe from your email list.
With recent changes in Canadian SPAM rules, you also need to make sure everyone you send communications to actually signed up for them … and remember they signed up.
I recently rebooted my email list and offered customers a 10% discount for taking the time as a thank you for their trouble.
