Direct Linking & Commission Junction Program Policies

Hello,
I'm aware that we can use direct linking for advertisers that mention "Direct Linking: Yes" on CJ.
However I noticed that some advertisers clearly mentioned that we are not allowed to use their trade marks or their domains as display URL and at the same time they allow direct linking.
Now, how does that make sense?
We can only do direct linking if they allow us to show their domain as display URL… That is we can't direct link to advertisers by showing "example.com" as dispaly URL…
