How to Create Email List

Hi,
Last month I launched a sales blog or an Amazon Affiliate blog rather to sell technology related stuff…I am getting around 50 visitors a day – which by no means is a number to brag about. Anyhow, i have heard and read elsewhere that creating an email list would be good for my business. So, being a complete newbie in the real of email marketing, I would like to ask how to proceed with that.
