Best Affiliate Program for a Newbie?

Hi all, I’ve been lurking here tryin to soak up enough information before I bother you all with my questions and I really want to get into affiliate marketing. So my question to you all is I would really prefer not to give out my SSN (yes I know its safe, I just prefer not to have that info "out there") and prefer Paypal for being paid.
