Noob question for affiliate marketers…

Please forgive my ignorance, but I was reading about using affiliate networks like clickbank, etc…and one option can be to market 1 or 2 products on your site. Like create your site just to market 1 product. I think it would be an interesting experiment, but can someone explain how this works?
Can someone give me an example of a blog that markets 1 product from an affiliate network?
I have a few blogs in the works and did not think of this angle…can someone shed some light on this for me?
