Mental Health Internet Radio

In the past, the subject of mental health has often been ignored, especially medical situations that contribute to stigma. In fact fear of stigma has kept many deserving individuals from seeking help or advice and lasting friendships. So I am happy to see that Internet culture is contributing to the well-being of people in need and of society as a whole. Certain sectors on the Internet are evolving into worldwide support groups, and web sites such as the Mental Health Talk Radio Home Page are going a long way toward alleviating the stigma and isolation that prevent open communication.

Jacqueline Foreman hosts the Your Mental Health Radio Talk Show, a LIVE show where listeners call in. Past shows are archived and are available for download. Jacqueline’s show is hosted on www.blogtalkradio.com. On April 1, 2008, Dr. Gregg D. Jacobs, an Insomnia Specialist at the Sleep Disorders Center at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, will talk on the show.
