Pay Per Click minimum bids

Before that’s the minimum bids.
Then I used to make a lot promoting free email programs at MIVA at 1 cent bids.
Now, MIVA’s minimum bid is 5 cents.
What are the other search engines that’s still have 1 cent minimum bids?
What are the minimum bids for big boys like yahoo, msn, google, etc.?
I saw people bidding for $1 for words. I had a hard time breaking even with 5 cent bids.
What are they promoting anyway?
