Chinese AdSense Has Feature Domestic Publishers Beg For
The Chinese edition of Google AdSense has a very useful feature, one that allows publishers to specify which sites are allowed to run their ads, in order to prevent fraud. Basically, a publisher lists all the sites they currently run AdSense on, and any site that tries to (or inadvertantly does) copy their publisher ID will not affect their account. Since stolen publisher IDs can be used in click fraud, this protects the publisher and is very useful.
In fact, AdSense publishers, including myself, have asked for this feature for years. How come China gets it first? Here’s hoping Google is just testing it there, and intends to roll it out for everyone sooner, not later.
