Well Deveolped Content Vs Squeeze Pages

(I’ve posted the same questions on a lot of forums so apologies to those who have had to put up with this multiple times
(My question in short is… How do squeeze pages, you know.. the ones with big colourful font and tall claims, compare to well developed blogs with good content when it comes to making a buck?)
Newbie alert! I’m in the process of setting up my own site/blog to get a feel of mmo first hand, after having read up on it for almost two months. But there is something that Im still wondering about.
I decided to take a conventional route and set up a proper blog, with its own domain, on a topic of my interest.. Upload it with content daily, hope and pray it appeals to reader and perhaps, over a few month, build up enough of a following to monetize it successfully.
