Need tips or advise on how to market and earn on affiliate programs

I’m a newbie, though I already read a lot about these stuffs, I can’t seem to get get it work.. I tried it on facebook and twitter, but I earn zero.. any helpful tips?
Is cloaking an affiliate link works?
