How do you choose a product?

As an affiliate marketer, how many products do you check out before you offer one for sale? What are your criterias to pomote a product? How much time is involved?
Some of my main criterias for a product I choose:
1. It has to work.
2. If it is a manula it has to be easy to follow.
3. It has to be userfriendly for the buyer and the seller.
