Landing Page help…

I have heard that having a landing page is a great way to get the most and best out of Google’s AdWords. But not exactly sure what a Landing page should have or what it looks like. Does anyone have any good examples? Say ones that works well with Google’s AdWords? I would really appreciate the help thanks.
