Seo experts – your help needed :)

Hi guys,
I just started a new gaming site
I tried for a few hours but every keyword I found was so competetive its not even funny.
Can any of you guys help me and tell me how should I promote this site?
tips tricks anything you can throw… of course I edited meta tags, catagories everything that I could do … robots, sitemap…
but I dont think its gonna be enough
