Need a little Help

Hey everyone,
As Google got an another update. My site has gone down. Before the update i was getting about 2000 unique visitors/day. But now only 300-400 unique visitors/day.
I need your help. This time , i want to create a new Blog on a popular niche, can you suggest some best niches for getting traffic fast ?
This time i am going to build a blog. So, i want to know which Blog platform should i use ? Blogger or WordPress ?
