Press release: about what?

Hey, guys. How do you think what kind of content is best to order a press release about? I guess the ultimate option is to write a great ebook, put it as a free offer to get people to opt in and have a press release written about it and distributed to multiple social media outlets. I’ve got a blog in dating niche and build list, need more leads.
However, I’m planning to order press releases on the regular bases so I have to write new ebooks and change my opt-in bates.
Am I doing something wrong? What else is good for press releases except for ebooks? May be videos?
