4000 ad views and not a single click, how can this be?

I just started using adsense and put a few ads on my site to try it out, I made sure the ads are content relevant and I put a 250×250 box on the sidebar (middle) and a banner at the bottom of my content. Since I put the ads on I have had 4000 ad requests but somehow not even one single click!
Am I doing something horrifically wrong, or what is going on here? Please someone help, I have read many tutorials on adsense and have no idea what to do about this
