MySql my.ini configuration

Hello everyone
I have a small problem , I try to change the folder mysql that inside apache to other server editing my.ini like that:
datadir="\\SERVER01\project\mysql\data"
but I didn't get success, If I change the mysql folder to other partition in same pc is working fine with "datadir".
so is there any solution to move this folder to other server ?
