WordPress Blog permalink doubt

I saw one wordpress blog using category and sub category in url. His url structure is like this.
www.mysite.com/category/subcategory/postname
When i little research on that. i found older thread which says. you add /%category%/%postname%/ in permalink. But when i updated this on wordpress. My url structure was like this www.mysite.com/category/postname. sub category is missing from here.
Any wordpress expert help me in this. also, i found this on workdpress…
