Linkbuilding Advice

So I'm just getting started in SEO.
I've learnt so far that link building and getting linkbacks to your site is one of the most important aspects of SEO. I've learned that it's quality of link backs rather than the quantity that matter as well.
Does anyone have any advice on how you get good quality links backs though? Methods, tips, tricks, tutorials or guides maybe?
Any help and or advice would be much appreciated.
