Am curious how to employ freebase meta data on a WordPress site

I spotted this post on Moz http://moz.com/blog/i-am-an-entity-hacking-the-knowledge-graph
then did some research on freebase
watched this YT video (which explained the why but not the how)
the only docs I could find where this:

the only wp plugin I could find hasn't been updated for over a year
Moz opened a can of worms but there seems to be little on the web about HOW to implement (short of hand coding php)
