another facebook notification api question

So I have a website and people can authenticate their facebook account so that they can easily share content and invite friends to the website. The invitations are kinda working but I discovered that there is one problem with them.
They come up as expected on a computer in normal view. However on mobile view or on my android app I do not get any of the notifications.
Has anyone come across this? Is this a api problem and I am using it wrong or is this a facebook problem?
