Display images from drop down menus

I am looking to build something that I could use in a shopping cart like magento or opencart or even woocommerce. I could go to a developer had have them build everything but want to try and do some of the easier parts first to get a working sample to show the client.
They want a product builder that will display a pic of truck with different parts on the front of the truck based on selections from a drop menu or links of some sort.
So not even sure what terms to search for on this but I want…
