Paypal Currency Option

I'm getting a subscription feature added to a website I have. Users will be able to subscribe using paypal. I forecast that the majority of users subscribing to the site will be based in the UK and therefore the default currency will be Pound Sterling. When I get directed to the paypal section the first field required is to select your country. If I change the country to something like France or Ireland it updates the page but it doesnt update the currency. Is this correct? Should it not…
