What is best for SEO .com or .co.uk for a business in UK

Q1. I am a business in UK and have brought .co.uk & .com domain name, which suffix is better for use for SEO purpose and generally for a UK business? .co.uk or .com domain? I brought .com as it is a more popular suffix.

Q2. If I go with lets say the .com and when someone types the .co.uk equivalent of the domain I want them to be redirected to the .com site through either mirroring or redirect, is that a problem with seo ranking?
