Is Google trying to dominate the internet with G+

Seems like Google is trying to own the internet with Google+. It isn't enough to have the #1 search engine in the world, and best video sharing site (Youtube),but now, they want to compete with other social networks like Facebook, and Twitter?
I didn't mind G+ for those who wanted to sign up willingly. Unfortunately, if you are on youtube, you had to forcefully sign up with G+ because Google decided to integrate the two sites. I don't hate Google, but they seem power hungry, and I don't…
