Maybe Congress will provide relief for Victims of Hurricane Sandy. Maybe not

Miraculously the Senate just passed its version of federal relief for Hurricane Sandy. The relief bill is to the tune of $60.4 billion. The miracle in today's toxic political environment is simply for one of the few times in the past couple of years the Senate Republicans did not stop the bill with the threat or requirement for a super majority of 60 votes for the bill. Unlike the last few years for a bill to pass the Senate it needed a simple flat majority.
