dreamweaver alternative

hey all
been using an old copy of DW for years…
getting a new laptop and dont want to by DW as i only use a few features and think there are better OS options out there….so, what can you guys recommend?
i dont really use design view at all…
all i really need is the code view…i like code prompts so they come up as im typing code…
i need to set up the ftp connections for the sites…
thats about all i need from it really!!
so,what do you recommend?
