BEST Keyword finder and Local Rank checker tools!

Hello,
Ever since the keyword Planner replaced Keyword tool we all are having tough time in finding out most relevant keywords with search volumes. I want to know if there are any other free / paid keyword tools which can show search volume. Also few local rank checker tool would be really helpful for the SEO community.
