Likes and membership

Hello,
I have recently joined DP forums and it looks like a great place for web business discussions but I am confused about something. I understand I need to receive a couple of *likes before I can add my homepage to my profile. I am not certain what this means though. I can see a bar at the top of every page with twitter and facebook icons -is the facebook like button what it refers to? Does this mean I need a FB account to receive those likes on DP? And also what *content do I have to post…
