How to remove low-quality pages correctly?

Hi guys, need your advice.
I need to remove from the site of more than two thousand low-quality pages (auto generated content, most of them have no backlinks) and redirect them (301) on a single page.
I just don't want to harm a site through a blind test.
Could you please suggest how to do it correctly.
Will it have a negative impact from Google?
