Thoughts on Matt Woodward and forum posting/commenting for traffic?

If you guys don't know who matt woodward is he has a top 100 blog and built all of his traffic from posting in forums and blog commenting. Turns out in the first month of launching his blog he got over 2,000 visitors from posting 927 post in forums. So has anyone had success with forum posting and blog commenting because I'm trying to do the same thing he did to get traffic to my blog My Online Income Journey. Please reply to this thread!!!
