How to get more Facebook likes?

Social media question. How can we get more Facebook likes from users who’ve read our content? Do we need to create better content? More share-able content? Do we need to share more content and information on the Facebook page? What can we do? Besides the fact that we are looking for ways to get more Facebook likes, we also want to get more fans/followers on Facebook. This looks kinda hard, because we can only add our own contacts and hope that they will like something, so their followers will also become our followers.
