Tumblr as a source of traffic or revenue

Hi, all. Many people say that if you’re blogger you’ll have more traffic by using Tumblr as a Satelite site or for other SEO purpose. Some even say that they make money from Adsense on tumblr. Is it true? And how much approximately? Are there people on this forum who made any Adsense+Tumblr cash? Thanks.
