Has Google’s Penguin Update Changed How You Promote Affiliate Programs

I’m sure most of all you affilaite marketers know that these days it’s a little harder to promote affiliate program’s. You know with all these algorithm updates that Google is doing.
With the most recent Penguin update, marketing methods will have to change. All types of websites have got nailed. To be honest, no one is safe from Google. lol
Blogs, article directories, classified ad sites, forums… yea Google hits them all.
What marketing methods are you using now and do they still work good as in bring you in money?
Your thoughts on new marketing methods other then writing blog posts on your own blog or your own website? I’m talking about quality marketing methods and not spamming your affiliate link all over the place.
