Mediavest’s Lauren Stein learns a lot on her first day at Ad Week, including what not to wear and what different media giants think of themselves
So being in the media industry for years, I of course have always heard of Advertising Week (how could you not?), and I have popped into sessions here and there but I have never really “done” the Ad Week circuit like I did today. Here are a few things I have learned thus far.
From a personal standpoint:
It’s sort of chaotic.
It’s completely crowded.
It’s a bit of a who’s who—every vendor is looking to “network” and make connections.
Nothing is in one spot. People say everything is close, but when you’re walking around in four-inch heels with a computer, purse and tons of media swag, it’s not that close.
