What’s the best RSS Reader?

Hi there – I’ve just discovered RSS (Rich Site Summary for the uninitiated, like me!! – an efficient way to obtain content from a range of websites) and want to know which feed reader to go for – is it best to go for a web-based one like Google Reader? Are there any significant differences or are they all pretty much the same? I’m a novice so need something as user-friendly as possible!! Any advice would be gratefully received. Many thanks.
