Who allows placing advertising/banners inside a PC software program?

I sell a PC software program and just got the idea of offering a free but basic (some features disabled) ad supported version.
Do any advertisers allow having an ad appear inside a computer program and would this be a good idea? I think having a free version would attract more customers which would later want to pay to get the extra features.
