From search share to “check-in” marketing, the world is seemingly “going mobile”
SAN JOSE, CA – Square in the heart of the Silicon Valley, where the lifeblood of the PC industry has flowed for some three decades, yesterday’s opening day of the 2011 Search Marketing Expo West showed once again that most of the buzz among industry types is focused on mobile phones. The ever-strengthening combination of portability and power that these devices provide is increasingly spurring users to rely on them for nearly everything they used to do on traditional computers—and a whole lot more. And, said many of Tuesday’s panelists, marketers who don’t heed this trend face the prospect of getting left at the side of the road.
