Ad of the Week: Natalie Portman for Miss Dior Cherie

New Oscar winner sizzles in risqué perfume spot directed by Sofia Coppola
When something bad happens to your brand—your Chief Designer publicly proclaiming “I love Hitler,” for instance—it helps to have something good to distract your customers. Like, say, Natalie Portman in a bathtub.
Portman, fresh off her Academy Award win this past week, stars in this (pre-pregnancy) ad for Miss Dior Cherie perfume that was directed by Sofia Coppola, herself an Oscar winner for “Lost in Translation.” In a series of quick shots indoors and outside in Paris, Portman writhes on a bed, displays a bare back as she tries on a dress, softly kisses and blindfolds her co-star, and takes a bubble bath wearing nothing but Dior sunglasses. Yeah, it’s pretty steamy.
