Our pals over at Mashable and TechCrunch have thoughtfully provided ratings and social media metrics for Oscar Night. TV ratings were down from last year, according to Mashable, but that was as predicted despite the “younger, hipper” MC’ing of James Franco and Anne Hathaway. Tweets were also lower, says TechCrunch, with the single most retweeted tweet coming from The Onion: “How rude—not a single character from Toy Story 3 bothered to show up.”
IAB founds Data Council
At its Ecosystem 2.0 confab Monday near Palm Springs, the Internet Advertising Bureau announced its new Data Council. On the group’s docket will be educating marketers and agencies in what it calls “Ecosystem Mapping,” aimed at helping advertisers assess complex data, and the development of a standard lexicon of industry argot for data segmentation and sources.
