It got weird.
Gene Simmons was the big-ticket keynote at this year’s Advertising Week Canada here in Toronto, and he drew what you might call an interesting crowd. The Toronto Star brought “The Demon” to town to speak to Canada’s advertising community on the value of personal branding and entrepreneurship. But the event was open to all who could spare the modest $88.50CDN fee. It became clear at the outset that agency slicksters were pretty evenly matched by rock ‘n roll hipsters.
