Can I Make an eCommerce Site for Affiliate Products?

eCommerce Site for Affiliate Marketing
So my nerdy friend and I have been talking. [you know it’s gonna be bad] So he says to me he’s made lots of eCommerce sites for clients. [so far so good] As a web designer, it’s appropriate. I perked up and says, I’d like to design an eCommerce site for myself, or even a few of them. [doom, Doom, DOOM]
So my idear is that I could make a nifty looking, snazzy, maxizumdweeb eCommerce site and put mah affiliate products on there and maybe, git me some snazzy API that keeps the entire process on mah eCommerce site or, if not, immediately direct them to the affiliate website. Them affiliate programs are Amazons, Linkshare, Conjunction Function, Shareasale, Peppermintpattyjam.
Couple of problems I’ve thought up.
1. I’m mixing and matching affiliate products on one eCommerce site [still in design phase, don’t panic] […]
