Email/zip/ submits question

Hey guys, I’m new to affiliate marketing, wanted to ask you regarding email/zip submits campaign… it says that conversion is on email or zip submit… Does it mean that it’s enough for a user just to leave his email and I get paid for that email that was left in a field? What about other forms that a user is supposed to proceed filling up like mail address after he enters his email into the form? Is it not really necessary?
