AWeber statistics unclear

I’m unclear about what the statistics mean in the affiliate control panel of AWeber.
There is:
Hits
Visitors
$ Sales
For example, yesterday: 8 hits and 3 visitors.
The banner we use to promote this program was shown approx 1,500 times
I’ve tried support, but after 3 email exchanges I still don’t understand what means what. Anyone using the affiliate program on here know what this is all about?
