Your Landing page convertion will convert higher with video ads – Truth or Myth ?!

Has anybody tried video clip as means to increase convertion?
Will a "presentor" ( a person that walks on your task bar and gives a sales pitch) work better then a t.v. box?
I would love to hear any thought on the matter
