Getting relevant ads from adbrite

Ive just started using adbrite for text ads and i have auto approved ads.
All the ads displaying are never even close to relevant to my site.
In fact some of the ads ive seen when i visit are adult ads.
I have turned off auto approve ads and manually approved ads i found relevant to my content BUT they never show up,all the ads are are still "married discreet dating" and other useless garbage.
What am i doing wrong? Ive hand picked ads relevant to my site but adbrite does not display them?
