Strategies for Targetting with Adbrite Traffic

Hey i was wodnering if anyone had any suggestions for targetting demo’s on adbrite. what are the best/cheapest ways to target traffic?
if adbrite is supposed to convert at a much lower rate, why are the prices the same if not more than adwords? (my experience in the diet niche)
