Very low $$ for almost 4000 daily impressions.

Sorry guys,
you’ve probably heard this hundrends of times but I have a problem with adsense, or better…he has a problem with me hehe.
Ok, so, I have this two websites http://www.boysoncandy.com/ and http://www.freshbt.com/ and daily I get a steady 4000 impressions and about 30-40 clicks but i’m only making a cheap $1.5 to $2, I thought that this was normal, but yesterday with the same 30-40 clicks and the same impressions i’ve made almost $8 and I thought to myself "Oh yes, finally this is starting to get sweet", but today i’ve dropped again to the same rate, 10 clicks = $0,23 :\
I really need your help, to see if I’m doing anything wrong, or any tips from you to improve my profit. I see people talking about "choosing your ads, or banning cheap ads etc.." how do I do that ? :\
