Total PPC noob looking for a place to learn …

I have never done PPC but I am eager to learn and try my hand at generating revenue in my evening as opposed to playing more MMOPG games. Besides it will make the wife happier too !
So am looking for some "where to start" help. I have read a bunch online but still struggle with what the baby steps are to actually get started.
My situation :

I do own some domain names
I do not have any web sites up on my domains
I am somewhat web/tech savy
I can afford to spend a little to learn
I do have a Google Adsense account (although its never really been used)

Anyone have any advice where I can start reading ? Where I could find a simple, outlined, step by step how to get started walk through ? Heck I’d even be delighted to work with someone familiar with the whole thing on a project […]
