Monetizing your site: decisions you make

Hey All,
What do you guys use to monetize your blogs? I’m deciding between options. Is adsense effective? What other networks are worth considering? What other considerations/factors do you weigh up when choosing who to go with? What average eCPMs do you get across these networks?
